News release
Apex Automation and Robotics’ automation solution for pharmaceutical company Apex Automation and Robotics has completed installing an Automated Batch Mixing Process for an international pharmaceutical company in its Sydney-based factory. The factory had an old process with outdated devices and it was manually operated. In addition, the operators had to record some required production data for quality assurance purposes, which has not always been reliable.
The engineering team at Apex Automation and Robotics has developed an automation solution for this process. The project comprised of introducing new equipment to automate the product transfer from silos or bulk bags and the batch mixing process. The controls of both the new and existing equipment has been consolidated into one motor control centre with a single master PLC and a HMI (Human-Machine interface) to operate and monitor the overall system.
The safety for the whole production line was upgraded to meet the new OH&S requirements. The system also records information such as batch number, starting and stopping time, actual mixing time, interruptions etc and will automatically send these production data to the factory network at the end of each batch. Apex Automation and Robotics has gained a reputation of developing innovative automation systems that would assist their clients to meet the challenges of increasing production, reducing manual operations, and meeting the requirements of their quality systems. |
